ABRAHAM & THAKORE is an important design resource for fashion clothing and accessories, as well as for textile products for the home. This Indian design label was established by David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore, graduates of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
The design sensibility of each collection is contemporary and international in spirit yet draws from the wealth of India's ancient weaving and craft traditions. Hand woven fabrics are specially developed for each collection in fine cotton muslin, silk and wool.
The ready to wear clothing collection consists of simple and elegant separates such as shirts, pants, skirts and dresses in fine hand woven fabrics. The fashion accessories collection of scarves, bags and footwear is simple and witty with a strong use of textile elements
. The home collection consists of soft furnishing products ranging from bed throws and duvet covers to cushions, curtain panels and table linen, as well as an extensive loungewear collection of pyjamas and robes. The fabrics in both these collection range from the finest voiles to richly textured hand woven textiles in cotton, wool and silk.These collections are available in London, Paris, New York, Dublin and Tokyo in leading stores such as Liberty, Selfridges, The Conran Shop, Le Bon Marche and Brown Thomas. In August 2002, Abraham & Thakore opened its first shop in New Delhi at 1 MG Road, Chattarpur. In October 2003, the second Abraham & Thakore store opened in Mumbai at The Courtyard, Colaba.
