Cosmos Mall, Brookefield

The closest mall around Brookefield and Whitefield is Cosmos. Located on the road leading to ITPL, Bangalore, Cosmos is a small shopping mall that has managed to stuff in enough within the limited space it has. There’s a paid parking lot (money is reimbursed on purchase within the mall) in the basement that during weekends gets full easily. Most of the people then manage to find space for their vehicles along the road or opposite it.

This four-storied mall does not tire you down as everything is a hop, skip and jump away. Enter it and you Pantaloons on the right and Body Shop on the left. The Pantaloons here stocks men’s, kid’s and women’s western casuals. Apart from that, there is a limited variety of women’s bags and kurtis available here. The range and variety is limited at this outlet but would suffice for a bout of quick shopping.

The Body Shop on the opposite side has a good variety of personal care products ranging from perfumes and cosmetics to face masks and cleaners. The brand is known for its natural beauty essentials made from seaweed, cocoa butter, Brazil nut and more. Apart from that you can find Jealous 21 for jeans and denims, Kurtas from The Kurta Company, casuals from Urban Ashram and other kiosks for jewelry, watches etc. Along the escalator, there is Gelato ice cream corner and a mouth freshener kiosk which sells Indian supari, saunf, digestives etc.

On the floors above, you will find a range of clothing and accessories stores that include Scullers, Cornerstone, Loot Mart etc. We also spotted Collection I and Welhome for home décor and linen apart from a wine and liquor shop. For those with some time in hand, there is also a unisex salon for skin and hair care. A Food Bazaar outlet completes the shopping list. A kid’s play area adds to the fun element.

On your way to the Food Court at the top, you will find a Delhiwalle chaat outlet that draws crowds in hordes. They have some seating arrangement here but people do not mind standing and relishing their plates of pani puris and dahi papdis too. The Spoon Food court serves a variety of multi-cuisine food on self-service basis. You can get South Indian dosas and idlis, Chinese platters, fast food like pizzas, Italian pastas, chaat and North Indian food. Many have combo meal offers so go for those. Again there is an ice cream corner here too. You can dine inside or outside on the terrace. Alongside there is a Sports Bar and a Paan kiosk too.

Our verdict – Cosmos is a place that you can visit for a quick shopping spree. Unlike other malls, it is not a place where people would go to hangout. It’s small but adequate; not really a place you would visit to while away time, window shopping. There isn’t much for kids to do here apart from the small play area. Cosmos is for the shopper who has a specific shopping outlet in mind. Apart from that, Delhiwalle chaat kiosk seems to be a big draw for shoppers here and so is the unisex salon. The Food Court is a good way to wind up the evening.
