Due to a large presence of temples, many of which which were well established for more than 400 years, Malleswaram is home to a large orthodox Hindu population. Electorally, Malleswaram is largely regarded as a hub for Vokkaliga (Gowdas) and Brahmins , a community which forms a sizeable and influential majority in this ward.It's a predominantly Kannada speaking population.
It is generally regarded as a safe and cogenial ward to live for Senior Citizens, in view of the fact that most hospitals are at a walking distance and good security. In addition, Senior Citizens are well served by the cultural / religious activities in this area.
