Yelahanka has gained prominence in the recent past due to the new Bengaluru International Airport which has come up near Devanahalli town, just 20 km North of Yelahanka. Vehicular traffic to (and from) the new Airport needs to pass Yelahanka to enter Bangalore city.this has made life difficult for residents of yelahanka as there are more traffic jams and vehicle density.
